The conflict between Israel and Palestine has once again highlighted the distressing reality of war in the 21st century. While war has always been a part of history, the use of modern weaponry has escalated the devastation on people and property.
On Thursday, Anand Mahindra shared an AI-generated video which showed how over the centuries the modes of war has evolved from hand-held weapons like swords to sophisticated machinery like war tanks and fighter jets. The video was made by AI artist @intothefab.

While sharing this video, Mahindra wrote, “AI created educational graphic showing how the technology of war has evolved. But the ‘education’ is that we haven’t really evolved as a species. The implements and trappings of war may have changed, but we still haven’t figured out how futile it is…”.

Commenting on the video, an X user wrote, “While we’ve made astounding advancements in science and technology, why do we still engage in the primitive act of war? It’s time to invest in peace, for the sake of our future generations.”
Another person observed, “Throughout history, we have had rulers and people who have influenced millions, but war is fought by millions, not individuals. Human beings have a deeply ingrained and irrational mindset of superiority over others, which makes war inevitable. We still kill each other over power, resources, and ideology.”
